# Google Analytics MCP

> GA4 reporting and configuration

A connector that reads and configures Google Analytics 4: reports, conversions, audiences, custom dimensions and key events, so analytics work lives next to the rest of your stack. Property metadata, custom dimensions and key events are managed from the same surface as the report pulls, and every number lands tagged to its property and date range, built for the cross-checks where GA4 has to agree with Search Console or the ad platform.

## Use cases
- Running reports and funnels on demand
- Setting up conversions and key events
- Creating audiences and custom dimensions
- Analyzing traffic sources and landing pages
- Cross-checking GA4 against ad-platform numbers

## Benefits
- Answers from your data without digging through the GA4 UI
- Conversion setup verified, not assumed
- Funnels and source analysis whenever you need them
- A second source to validate ad-platform claims
- Goes beyond the read-only official GA4 MCP: configures audiences, key events and custom dimensions, not just reads reports

## What’s included
- GA4 reports: traffic, conversions, funnels, pivots and realtime
- Key-event and custom-dimension management from the same line
- Property and data-stream configuration reads
- Audience creation and Google Ads link management
- Built for cross-checks: numbers land tagged to property and date range
- Landing-page and source/medium breakdowns for root-cause work

## Who it’s for
Marketers and analysts who want GA4 data on demand and verifiable.

## How it runs
GA4 reads and configuration from one surface, with every number tagged to its property and date range, built for the moments when GA4 has to agree with Search Console or the ad platform.
1. Connects to GA4 with your own credentials. Keys stay in your environment, nothing passes through our servers.
2. Report pulls run freely: traffic sources, landing pages, funnels, conversion counts, any property, any date range, on demand.
3. Every number lands tagged to its property and date range, so a figure can never quietly drift into the wrong report.
4. Configuration changes, creating key events, custom dimensions, audiences, stop and wait for your explicit approval before touching the property.
5. The same surface that reads GA4 reads the cross-check targets, so GA4 numbers get lined up against Search Console clicks or ad-platform conversions instead of being trusted alone.
6. Open MCP standard: plugs into Claude or any MCP-compatible AI.

## FAQ
### I run several GA4 properties, do the numbers stay separated?
Yes. Every number comes back tagged with its property and date range, which is the whole design: it's built for cross-checks where GA4 has to agree with Search Console or the ad platform.

### Why not just open the GA4 interface?
For a one-off look, do. The difference is that reports, key events and custom dimensions live on the same line as the rest of your stack, so a GA4 number gets validated against an ad-platform claim in the same conversation instead of two tabs and a spreadsheet.

### Will it fix broken tracking on my site?
No. It reads and configures the GA4 side: key events, dimensions, audiences, property settings. The tag on the site itself is implementation work: this connector can show you the data is missing, but it can't patch the code that should be sending it.

### There is an official GA4 MCP. Why this one?
Google does ship an official GA4 MCP, but it is read-only reporting. This one goes further: alongside reports it also configures GA4, creating audiences, key events and custom dimensions and linking Google Ads, so it covers setup and not just pulling numbers. If you only need to read a report the official tool is fine; to build and maintain the property, this is the more comprehensive one.
